Terms of Use
Effective: 1 November 2026
These are the rules for using Yield Strength ("Yield"), an iPhone strength-training app with an AI coach, made by Northline Standard LLC ("Northline Standard", "we", "us"). By using Yield, you agree to these terms. The sign-in screen links to these terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Yield.
The short version. Yield is for adults 18 and over. Its coaching is training guidance, not medical advice, and the AI coach can be wrong. Lifting carries real risk of injury, and you take that risk on yourself. Stop if something hurts. Paid subscriptions are billed, renewed, cancelled and refunded by Apple, not by us. You can delete your account in the app at any time.
1. Who can use Yield
You must be 18 or older to use Yield. You confirm this when you sign in. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will close it. If you are signing up on behalf of someone else, don't.
You also confirm that you are not in a country under a US government embargo and not on a US government list of restricted parties.
Yield is built for healthy adults doing ordinary strength training. If you are pregnant, injured, recovering from surgery, or managing a medical condition, read the health section below before you train.
2. Not medical advice
Yield's coaching, workout plans, rest and stretch suggestions, recovery readings, habit scores and body-composition tracking are training guidance, not medical advice. Yield is not a doctor, physical therapist, dietitian or any other licensed health professional. It does not diagnose injuries or conditions, and it does not prescribe treatment. Nothing in Yield creates a professional-patient relationship between you and anyone.
- Talk to a doctor before you start or change a training programme, especially if you have an injury, a medical condition, a heart or blood-pressure issue, take medication, or have not trained in a long time.
- Never ignore or delay professional advice because of something Yield showed or said.
- In an emergency call your local emergency number. Yield is not an emergency service.
- Pregnancy mode pauses Yield's programming and points you to your doctor or midwife. It is not a plan for training while pregnant. Follow the guidance of your own medical provider.
- Body measurements and goals (weight, body fat, waist, blood pressure and similar) come from what you or Apple Health provide. They can be inaccurate. Yield's weight and body-composition tools are not for diagnosing or managing a medical condition or an eating disorder. If you have a history of disordered eating, talk to a professional before using them.
3. Exercise carries risk. You accept it.
Strength training involves risk of injury, including serious injury and, rarely, death. Risks include strains, sprains, fractures, falls, dropped weights, equipment failure and overexertion. You decide whether and how to do each exercise, how much weight to lift and when to stop. Yield cannot see you, your form, your equipment or your surroundings.
- Stop if you feel sharp, sudden or unusual pain, dizziness, chest discomfort, numbness or shortness of breath, and get medical help if it doesn't pass.
- Use a spotter, safety pins or a rack when lifting heavy, and use equipment that is in good condition.
- Treat suggested weights, reps, rest times and progressions as a starting point. If a number feels wrong, it is fine to do less. Yield will not mind.
By using Yield you voluntarily take on these risks. To the fullest extent the law allows, you accept responsibility for any injury or loss from your training, and you do not hold Northline Standard responsible for it, except where the law says we can't exclude it (see section 13).
4. The AI coach can be wrong
The coach is powered by an AI model from a third-party provider. AI can be confidently wrong, can misunderstand you, can get arithmetic wrong, and can say things that don't fit your situation. Yield works to limit this: weights and progressions come from the app's own rules, not from the AI, and the coach is given safety rules. That reduces mistakes; it doesn't remove them.
- Check anything that matters, and use your own judgement.
- Proposed plan changes arrive as cards you apply or decline. Nothing changes your plan until you apply it.
- Don't rely on the coach for medical, legal, nutritional-therapy or mental-health advice.
- Coach output may not be unique. Other people may get similar text.
5. Your account
- You sign in with an emailed one-time code or Sign in with Apple. Keep access to that email address or Apple ID secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information. You can leave optional profile fields blank, but the coaching is only as good as what you tell it.
- One person per account. Don't share it or sell it.
- Tell us at support@yieldstrength.app if you think someone else has got into your account.
- You can delete your account in the app at Profile → Delete Account. It is permanent. Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription; see section 8.
6. Acceptable use
Don't:
- use Yield for anything unlawful, or to harm or harass anyone;
- try to break, probe, overload or get around the security or limits of Yield or its servers;
- copy, reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the code, the exercise library or the coach's prompts, except where the law lets you;
- use scripts or bots to access Yield or to pull coach output at scale;
- try to make the coach do things it's designed not to (for example, by trying to switch off its safety rules);
- use Yield to train, or to give advice to, other people as a paid service, or resell it.
We can limit or suspend access if you break these rules.
7. Your health and training data
The Yield Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it (including the AI provider that writes coaching text), how long we keep it, and how to delete it. It is part of these terms. If you give Yield access to Apple Health, it reads the data you allow; you can switch that off in Profile → Apple Health or in Apple's Health app. Yield writes only the waist measurements and water entries you add.
You keep ownership of your own training data, notes and messages. You give us permission to store and process them to run Yield for you, as the Privacy Policy describes. We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
When the coach explains something, it does so from the data you have given Yield. If a reading is missing, Yield treats it as "no reading", not as a miss.
The coach shows a notice that its guidance is not medical advice and asks you to acknowledge it. We keep the record of that acknowledgment, even after you delete your account, as the Privacy Policy says.
8. Subscriptions, trials and payments
Yield is free to download and has a free plan. Yield Pro is an optional paid subscription. The price, period and what Pro includes are shown before you buy.
- What is free and what is Pro. Logging, routines, charts with all your history, your heading, habit tiers, streaks, rank, health, balance, mobility and injuries are free. Pro adds the AI coach and plan cards, coach-built training blocks, the post-workout coaching note, the Discipline points breakdown, levers and Captain's Log, and the full On Course views. Help in a crisis is never locked.
- Price. Yield Pro costs $12.99 a month or $79.99 a year. Prices in other countries are set by Apple.
- Free trial. Each account gets 14 days of Pro free, with no card needed. The trial is given by Yield, not by Apple. It starts when you create your account, is available once per account, and ends on its own after 14 days. We never charge you at the end of it. After the trial your account moves to the free plan and keeps all your data. Deleting your account does not give you another trial. Accounts created before 08:00 UTC on 11 November 2026 get Pro free until 11 November 2027 instead of the trial, as a thank-you. It also ends on its own, and we never charge you at the end of it.
- Apple handles the money. If you subscribe, the purchase is made through your Apple Account and billed by Apple. We never see or store your card details.
- Auto-renewal. A paid subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly, as you chose) at the price shown, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple charges your account within 24 hours before renewal.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your Yield account does not cancel it.
- Coach limit. The AI coach has a fair-use limit of 200 messages a month, and a daily limit that stops runaway use. The same limit applies during the trial. Crisis and safety replies, plan-card taps and the post-workout note do not count toward it. When you reach the limit the coach pauses until your allowance renews, and everything else in Yield keeps working.
- Refunds. Apple decides refunds, not us. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Apple Support. We can't issue refunds for App Store purchases.
- Price changes. If we change a price, Apple tells you and, where required, asks for your agreement. If you don't agree, cancel before it takes effect.
- If Pro ends or you cancel, you keep your account and your data. Features that need Pro stop.
- Changing what Pro includes. We may add, change or remove features. If we make Pro meaningfully worse during a period you've already paid for, take it up with Apple through the refund route above and email us at support@yieldstrength.app; we will not oppose your refund request.
Apple's own terms (the Apple Media Services Terms) govern the purchase itself.
9. Ownership
Yield, including the app, its design, code, exercise library, instructions, wording, the Yield Strength name and logo, and the way it scores and plans, belongs to Northline Standard or its licensors. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Yield on Apple devices you own or control, under Apple's Usage Rules, for your own training. That's all you get. You keep all rights in the data and messages you provide.
If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything, including credit or payment.
If you think something in Yield infringes your rights, or you need to send us a legal notice, email support@yieldstrength.app.
10. Third-party services and Apple
Yield relies on others, including Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, Apple Health), a database and sign-in provider, an AI model provider and an analytics provider; the Privacy Policy lists what each receives. They have their own terms. We aren't responsible for them, and Yield may not work if they don't.
You must also follow the terms of any third-party agreements that apply when you use Yield (for example, your mobile carrier's terms).
11. Terms that apply because you got Yield from the Apple App Store
These terms are a custom licence agreement between you and Northline Standard. They are not with Apple. They don't give you usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Where Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement would give you stronger protection, we don't intend anything here to conflict with it. In particular:
- Acknowledgement. You and Northline Standard make this agreement, not Apple. Northline Standard, not Apple, is solely responsible for Yield and what it contains.
- Scope of licence. The licence is a non-transferable licence to use Yield on any Apple-branded products you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions allow. Other accounts associated with the purchaser may also access and use Yield through Family Sharing, volume purchasing or Legacy Contacts.
- Maintenance and support. Northline Standard is solely responsible for any maintenance and support services for Yield, as described in these terms or as the law requires. Contact us at support@yieldstrength.app. You and Northline Standard acknowledge that Apple has no obligation whatsoever to provide any maintenance or support for Yield.
- Warranty. Northline Standard is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent they are not effectively disclaimed. If Yield fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for Yield to you. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for Yield. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses from a failure to conform to a warranty are Northline Standard's sole responsibility.
- Product claims. You and Northline Standard acknowledge that Northline Standard, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claim by you or anyone else about Yield or your possession or use of it, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) claims that Yield fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws, including in connection with Yield's use of the HealthKit framework. Nothing in these terms limits our liability to you beyond what the law permits.
- Intellectual property claims. You and Northline Standard acknowledge that if a third party claims that Yield, or your possession and use of it, infringes that party's intellectual property rights, Northline Standard, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a region subject to a US government embargo, or designated by the US government as a "terrorist supporting" region; and (ii) you are not listed on any US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer name and address. Northline Standard LLC, 7533 S Center View Ct #8117, West Jordan, UT 84084, United States; telephone 801-340-3199; support@yieldstrength.app. Send any questions, complaints or claims about Yield there.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with any applicable third-party terms of agreement when you use Yield.
- Third-party beneficiary. You and Northline Standard acknowledge and agree that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms, and that once you accept them, Apple has the right (and is deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
12. Ending your use
You can stop using Yield and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if we must by law, or if we stop offering Yield. Where it's fair, we will tell you first and give you a chance to take your data with you. To get a copy of your data, email support@yieldstrength.app. Yield has no in-app export.
If we end your access without you breaking the terms, we will not oppose a refund request to Apple for your unused subscription time.
Sections about ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law and anything meant to outlast these terms survive.
13. Disclaimers and limits on our liability
YIELD IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT YIELD OR THE COACH WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, SAFE FOR YOUR PARTICULAR BODY, OR THAT IT WILL ACHIEVE ANY RESULT.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS, NORTHLINE STANDARD AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST DATA, PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF YIELD. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF WHAT YOU PAID US IN THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS AND US $100.
Some places don't allow some of these limits (for example, for personal injury or for death caused by negligence, or in some consumer laws). Where that applies, the limits apply only as far as the law lets them, and nothing here limits any right you can't lawfully give up. Nothing limits liability for our fraud or willful misconduct.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah and applicable US federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you and we agree to those courts, except that you may bring a claim in your home courts where the law of your home place gives you that right.
Before going to court, please email us at support@yieldstrength.app and give us 30 days to sort it out. Most problems get fixed faster that way.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms as Yield changes. For a change that matters (for example, to payments, your rights or how your data is used) we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, 30 days ahead where practical, and where the law requires, ask for your agreement. We will also update the effective date at the top. If you keep using Yield after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you don't agree, stop using Yield and delete your account. Changes never apply to a subscription period you've already paid for.
16. The rest
- The whole agreement. These terms, the Privacy Policy and Apple's standard terms (where they apply) are the full agreement between you and us about Yield.
- If part is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
- Not giving up rights. If we don't enforce something straight away, we haven't given up the right to do so later.
- Transfers. You can't transfer your account or these terms. We may transfer ours, for example if Northline Standard is sold, and we'll tell you.
- Export. You must follow US and local export laws.
- US government users. Yield is commercial software, and government users get only the rights given to other users.
